Sterling Silver Cut Out Pendant Project – Sawing Basics
Sunday, February 21, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

Class Level:  Beginner

Join Angela in the studio for this morning workshop to learn the basics of working with the jeweler’s saw and create a cut out sterling silver pendant in a shape of your choosing.  You can make a heart, a crescent moon, butterfly, tear drop, you name it!  Not sure what you’d like to make?   Templates will be available to choose from and trace.  Bring your Mom, your best firned or come and try a skill on your own.  This is a beginning level introduction to silversmithing and the basics of sawing metal with a jeweler’s saw.

No experience necessary.  Come join in on the fun.

Project includes your choice of a 16”, 18” or 20” box chain.


Encaustic Wax

Encaustic wax is the use of melted beeswax and damar resin to create beautiful, textured paintings.  Safety procedures will be covered.  A variety of heated tools and embedded materials will be provided so that students may experience with this unique medium.


Basic Art of Decorating Cookies

Learn the Basic Art of Cookie Decorating!  Steph will teach you tricks and tips to decorate cookies like a Pro! Students will leave the class with sweet treats!


Kid’s Create:  Blackout Poetry (ages 11-18)

This class is designed for youth ages 11-18.

Come learn how to get in the mindset to create.  Engage in mindfulness activities and being working on a blackout poetry piece.  Blackout poetry is a form of expression with minimal artistic ability.  Books will be provided and will be sent home with the participant to continue their poetry exploration.


Dot Mandala Coasters

You will learn the basics of Dot Mandala while making a set of four coasters.  Coasters will be finished with triple thick varnish and cork backing.


Big Stitch Quilt Binding

In this handwork class we will learn a few different techniques to add trendy big stitching to your quilt binding.  We will assemble the mini quilt sandwich, practice adding binding by machine and complete the big stitch design with needles and heavyweight thread.  Visible stitching adds a unique finish to your quilt bindings, and is a relaxing, meditative practice to incorporate into your sewing routine.  Beginning quilters or quilting veterans can enjoy these techniques.

Make these three sterling silver rings!  Stack ‘em all on one finger for yourself or make them to share.  Bring your Mom, your best friend or come and try a skill on your own.  This is a beginning level introduction to silversmithing and the basics of soldering.

If you have long hair, you will need to have it pulled back as we will be playing with fire.  Safety first.
