2022 Friday Classes

All classes during the weekend are offered “ala carte.” Register for one, or register for many. Just be mindful not to register for two classes during the same timeslot!

Moonbeam Intentions
When: Friday, March 18, 2022
Time:  3:00-5:00 pm
Where: Hot Shops Art Center, Creative Mornings Studio
Instructor: Jackie Jacober
Fee: $65 – All supplies included
Class Level: Beginner

Painting an acrylic moon scene, we will add an personal intention phrase to the painting. This painting will have it’s own easel so it can be placed where you will be reminded most often. We will do light chair yoga and a guided visualization to anchor before we begin painting. This is an experience for the whole self. All supplies will be included.


Mosaic Mini Flower Pot/ Picture Frame
**Note, this is a 2-part class**
Part 1: Friday, March 18, 2022 from 3:00 pm-5:00 pm
Part 2:  Sunday, March 20 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm
Where: Hot Shops Art Center, Event Center
Instructor: Maria Yearian
Fee: $50 – All supplies included
Class Level: Beginner

This is a two-part class. On Friday afternoon, students will glue glass and tile pieces onto a mini terracotta flower pot and small picture frame. Because the mosaic glue needs 24 hours to dry, the class will resume on Sunday, when students will apply grout to finish their pieces. All materials will be provided, but students are welcome to bring in any items of their own that they would like to transform into a mosaic in addition to the pieces to be completed during the class, such as a flower pot, picture frame, wooden board, stepping stone, small table or any other item of choice.


Let’s Tie One On – Learning Macrame **SOLD OUT **
When: Friday, March 18, 2022
Time:  3:00-5:30 pm
Where: Hot Shops Art Center, Studio 106
Instructor: Caroline Schmitz
Fee: $30 – All supplies included
Class Level: Beginner

The class will begin with instruction in basic macrame knots – square knots, double half hitch, and half knot twist. If you can tie your sneakers, you can do macrame knots! A wall hanging will be made that is approximately 5”wide x 20” long. The approximately 35 yards of cord (white soft cotton) and mounting board will be precut for the project. Variations can be made from the posted macrame picture. Many examples of other macrame pieces I have made will be shown and resources shared.


Fun with Alcohol Inks **SOLD OUT **
When: Friday, March 18th, 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm

Discover the fun of alcohol inks!
In this class, students will first have fun playing with alcohol inks on 3-4 projects including 2 coasters! We can’t use the word “fun” enough when we talk about alcohol inks


Fire Painted Copper Earrings
When: Friday, March 18, 2022
Time:  7:00 pm to 8:30 am
Where: Hot Shops Art Center

Class Location:  Studio 220

This is a fun carefree class with a little fire action. In this class you will be making a pair of copper earrings. During this project you will be form folding the copper earrings. Once you have a shape you are happy with, then they will be heated with fire to create a color surface, making then unique and one of a kind. These earrings will be approx. .25″ wide and 1.5″ in length. If you prefer a shorter earring, they can be cut down to a length of your choosing.
