Copper Byzantine Bracelet
When: Saturday, March 19th, 9:00 am to 11:30 am
Instructor: Lynn Kvigne
Fee: $35 plus $30 kit fee payable to instructor at time of class

Learn the timeless Byzantine chainmaille weave. During the class, you will learn the weave in copper, create a hand forged clasp and stamped tag for a bracelet. As an option, you may want to give your copper a deep patina using liver of sulfur or a colorful flame painted patina. After you finish your bracelet, I’ll tumble polish it for a beautiful finish. Prerequisites: Must have hand strength to open & close 18 gauge wire rings. Also, please bring glasses if you need them for detail work.
Storytelling and Safety

Using guided visualization and writing/drawing, we will create a personal symbolic painting that holds much meaning for you. This class will use color mixing in acrylic on a 9×12 canvas. We will also use light chair yoga in essential oil infused setting. This class is for the whole person and grounded in creativity.
Gelli Printing Basics

Learn how to make beautiful stamped soldered earrings using copper or brass blanks. Students will have a variety of shapes to choose from and will learn how to assemble into finished earrings using sterling silver ear wires, a necklace or a key chain.

Have you always wanted to learn how to make your own beads? Want to learn how to make truly personalized jewelry? Step it up and learn how to make your own beads! This is a great intro class to see if you’d like to further explore that art of glass bead making, also known as lampworking or flameworking. No prior torch experience required.

Brass Cuff Bracelet Stack

In this class you will create two brass cuff bracelets. They can be worn alone or stacked together. In this class we will be utilizing two different metal marking techniques. You will make one bracelet that is hammered. The other one will be stamped. There will be different stamp designs to choose from. If you have a small 3mm or smaller sized stamp that you like, you may bring it to use.
Discover Linocut

Discover the fun of creating your own stamp from start to finish! You will become familiar with vocabulary, techniques, and safety for carving linoleum. You will leave with knowledge of the art of linocut, practice with five gouges and multiple techniques, and your own stamp that can be used on paper or fabric. You will receive a complete kit as part of the class fee, that you can use at home for more fun, with sources for purchasing additional linoleum. Please bring your reading glasses if needed.
Cut out Heart Pendant – Brass, Silver, or Copper, You Choose!

In this class you will learn the basic fundamental skill of using a jeweler’s saw. There is no need to be able to draw for this class. There will be heart shapes printed out for you to choose your design from. If you are new to working with your hands, sawing can be a bit tricky at first, but I will be there to help you along the way. Once you have your heart cut out, we will be filing and sanding them to a smooth edge. Once that is complete, they will be polished and nice and shiny.
**Chain is not included with this project. They will be available for purchase.
** Jewelry saw is provided for use during class, should you have your own saw, please feel free to bring.
Zipper Needle Felted Art

We will be making a broach/shawl pin or art piece using zippers, roving and embellishments. The zipper is hand sewn onto wool felt making an outline of a design. The inside is then filled in with wool roving using the technique of needle felting. Then buttons, beads, metal and other embellishments are added. Students will learn also how to prepare a zipper and apply a pattern. Instruction of needle felting will also be included in this class as well as embellishment tips and finishing options. Level: This class is open to all skill levels…if you can thread a needle, you can do this art form, however very sharp needles are used so it is preferable if students are at least 12 years of age. Needle felting experience is a plus but not a prerequisite for this class. Supplies: All materials for this class are provided by the instructor. Additional books, patterns, roving and embellishments will also be available for purchase,

Polymer Clay Slab Workshop

Class Level: Beginner to Intermediate
In this class you will be making your very own polymer clay slab! Starting with a slab of clay as a canvas, you will be using small pieces of colorful polymer clay and cane slices on it to form a beautiful pattern. After you are satisfied with your design, we will use cutters to cut shapes out of the slab. All clay materials and cutters will be provided, as well as a few magnets and jump rings. I will send you home with instructions on how to bake your pieces, and from there you can turn them into magnets or pieces of jewelry!

Intro to Amigurumi – Crochet a Jellyfish, Beginner Level Class

Learn the Japanese art of Amigurumi, crocheting small soft creations. In this course you will learn the basic stitches to create your very own crocheted jellyfish, including standard crochet, increase and chain stitches. This section is for beginners who have little to no previous experience with crochet. Class fee includes all materials and tools.

Creating Hand-made Leather Journals

Participants will examine samples of handmade books. Instruction will include measuring, hole punching and Asian style binding of pages. The cover will be leather which the instructor will provide. The book size is approximately 6” x 9”.
Students are asked to bring a paper punch and ruler.

Golden Busy Books & Journals

Golden Busy Books & Journals – Join the fun and dive into a crazy collection of paper items to create a unique Busy Book for Kids OR a Journal for you to cherish or give as a special gift! Your class registration includes your choice of a Little Golden Book or Journal Cover, instructions for hole punching and assembly using The Cinch book binding machine and a unique combination of inserts you choose to complete your book.
Additional kits will be available for purchase at $20 each paid directly to the instructor.
