Your Hibernate and Create RETREAT Hosts:

Kelli Sweet: Exploring is the general theme for Kelli – creativity, travel, food and more! As the artist behind Degrees by Kelli, her favorite mediums are jewelry, collage & painting and all things quilting & fabric related.
Kelli loves to connect and inspire creativity. She founded Hibernate & Create as the 31 Days of Creativity Challenge which has blossomed into a beautiful Facebook community. In 2018 it expanded into RETREATS bringing people together for dedicated creative time with friendship & food! And 2020 brought the addition of Crafty Mixer, an online virtual craft meet-up and Workshops & Classes in her studio at the Hot Shops Art Center in Omaha.
Kelli lives in LaVista, Nebraska with her husband Drew and their tabby cat Milo (aka Squeaky_Milo on Instagram)

Lindsay Struble: Lindsay is the “chef” extraordinaire behind the Hibernate & Create Retreats. A special education teacher by profession, we enjoy Lindsay’s delicious cooking as she “fusses” over the small details.
Lindsay loves to travel, explore and hop onboard when a friend needs a companion for an adventure. She loves to help others and make people smile! Her creativity and art is through cooking and the sharing of food. Her goal is to warm the hearts and tummies of the people she’s around!
Lindsay and her husband Tim live in LaVista, NE with their energized kitten, Lola, Lola loves to entertain them at all hours of the day!

Julie Geiger Armed with a sewing machine or needle and thread, Julie Geiger creates all types of fabric wonderment including quilts, wool applique, embroidery and wool felt projects.
Captivated by all things fabric since she was a young girl, Julie is the owner of Prairie Point Junction Quilt Shop, Home of Wool Felt Central in Cozad, Nebraska. Julie will share her magic, some embroidery stitches and inspire you to transform needle and thread, into a special keepsake.

Our Guest Instructors:

Gale Nation is a hand-lettering artist and designer from Kansas City. She teaches virtual workshops from her home studio as well as in-person classes in the KC area. Her hand-lettered goods are sold at Hallmark stores, on her website, at stockists across the US, and have been on products in Hobby Lobby, Primitives by Kathy, Studio Calico, and Spoonflower. She loves embroidery and has added stitching classes featuring her lettering, as well as a new line of stitched designs, patterns, and kits.
All her work is lettered by hand – no vinyl, stencils or machines. In her sold-out classes, she teaches others how to embrace their own creative lettering habit by breaking it down into bite-sized steps and easy projects.
Color is fun and she embraces it wholeheartedly. When she’s not lettering, she enjoys decorating, and her home has been featured in Flea Market Home and Living and Better Homes and Gardens magazines, and the book “Flea Market Flair”. She believes that words matter, love does, and life is better when you’re laughing.

Anna Walker
I’ve long been crafty, since childhood, to be fair. I have picked up and tried nearly every creative
hobby you can imagine: sewing, crochet, embroidery, ceramics, paper crafts, glass etching,
beading, well, you get the idea. So, in 2008 when I won an online giveaway of a 4 oz. hand
painted roving, which was LOVELY, and smelled good, and was SO SOFT to touch, I was instantly
in love with fiber. However, I had no desire to spin wool, so when I found a $4 ‘Teach Yourself
to Needle Felt’ kit at the local craft store, I thought, “Why not?”, and two months later my late
husband declared that every horizontal surface of our home was covered in felt, and I was hooked! The only thing I love more than felting is teaching others how to find their creativity through classes. I’ve taught hundreds of people how to stab things into existence throughout the past decade+ and have moved into the virtual teaching space. My FELTit! kits include all the supplies needed to create something from fiber AND access to a virtual class! As I look into the next decade+, I am excited to bring more and more of these FELTit! kits+classes into existence, and hope that you’ll find YOUR inner creative through the wooly world of felting!
